THE NEWMARKET MAIN STREET FARMERS MARKET IS OPENING THIS WEEKEND – SATURDAY MAY 5TH.  IT IS BEHIND MAIN STREET AND I AM HOPING FOR GOOD WEATHER AND LOTS OF GIRLS TO COME SEE MY NEW OUTFITS FOR SPRING. I AM VERY EXCITED ABOUT MY NEW ROOM.  I HAVE BEEN CONVERTING AND DECORATING A BIG ROOM DOWNSTAIRS, DEDICATED JUST FOR MY DOLLS AND OUTFITS.  SO FAR IT IS PAINTED ALL PINK AND IS LOOKING GREAT.  I AM PLANNING ON HAVING TEA PARTIES FOR WHEN GIRLS BRING THEIR DOLLS AND COME VISIT MY NEW ROOM.  I WILL POST PICTURES AND ANNOUNCE WHEN IT IS READY.

I love hats and am planning to make more summer dresses with matching hats.  I also like capri pj’s for summer and knitted fluffy slippers.  The gold dresses and shoes really sparkle and is good for Prom dress.  As always, I welcome your comments and suggestions.

I AM MAKING LITTLE SPRING DRESSES IN KNIT JERSEY.  I LIKE THEM PLAIN BUT DID MAKE VESTS AND HATS.  I AM NOT SURE IF I SHOULD MAKE MORE VESTS AND HATS FOR THEM OR LEAVE THEM PLAIN – ANY COMMENT?  ALSO BATHING SUITS WITH WRAP SKIRT.  WILL BE MAKING 2 PCE BATHING SUIT AND COVER UP SOON.

MY FRIEND MADE THESE BUNK BEDS AND ASKED ME TO HELP HIM SELL THEM, SO I MADE MATTRESSES, COMFORTERS AND PILLOWS FOR THEM.  HIS WORK IS VERY GOOD AS HE MAKES THE STANDS THAT I HAVE AND HAS MADE SEVERAL QUALITY THINGS FOR ME.  HE ONLY WANTS $80 FOR THEM, SO I DON’T THINK THEY WILL LAST LONG.

I DID ANOTHER “STARCATCHER” DANCE COMPETITION LAST WEEKEND AND FOUND OUT THAT MY LITTLE SKIRTS AND BODY SUITS ARE VERY POPULAR. I MADE 12 FOR THE SHOW AND THE GIRLS LOVED THEM AND TOOK HOME 9 OF THEM.  I AM GOING TO MAKE A LOT MORE IN MANY COLORS FOR MY NEXT SHOW.  I HAVE A LOT OF SEWING TO DO FOR SPRING AND CAN’T WAIT TO SHOW YOU.  I AM ALSO MAKING BATHING SUITS FOR THE SUMMER AND WILL KEEP YOU UP TO DATE.  AS ALWAYS, I APPRECIATE ANY COMMENT OR SUGGESTION.

I am obsessed with getting the shoes done right.  I have to make straps shorter on white ones and can’t decide if I should put straps on dark silver ones.  Does anyone know if ballet slippers have to be strapped?  I will keep trying until I am happy with little shoes!

Jacqueline and I did this Dance Festival last weekend for the first time…and it was great.  We met all kinds of girls in their beautiful costumes, who gave me nice comments on my little costumes.  I did learn a lot by seeing what the girls were wearing and will try and do more for my dolls.  Jacqueline worked very hard and designed a lot of costumes for me that I can’t wait to try.

I have spent a good part of my day trying to make ballet shoes.  They are not perfect yet, but am still working on them.  They are difficult to do because they are so tiny.  I will get better at it.
